I will be hoping to post on the blog almost daily. I have been a crafter on and off my whole life, ( and still learning new things, ways, tips, and patterns.) I have learned Sewing, Crochet, Quilting, and am learing still many other crafts . ( Am looking forward to attempting Weaving, and have regained my fondness for Loom Knitting.)
My mother knew how to do Crochet but not how to read patterns, she learned from watching someone else do a Chervon pattern and began asking them to show her.
Some people when beganing a new craft or even a new stitch will use Youtube Tutorials, Blogs ( many offer photographed step by step guides as well.) , some use books or stitch guides as well even asking someone whose been in that crafting medium longer if they could give you hand can all be used as tools to further learning and practicing.
My mother, and Nanny for sure were very good at using light boards to create their own crafts , however unlike me their craft was ( and my mother's still is) knitting. I guess this is what you can say having crafting in your blood looks like. I found crafting to help with both my physical and mental disabilities as well as art. i find crafting and art very relaxing and rewarding as they produce a tanagible item once you're done the project.
It can make amazing gifts as well , as I have always enjoyed crafting and home decor ,specailly during the holidays. It normally makes both the person giving and recieving feel nice to have a hand made personal item, made just for them.
Without even going anywhere near the topic of selling I hope this first post has encouraged your love of crafting, made you want to learn more / try something new, whatever the case maybe I hope that everyone continues crafting whatever medium they enjoy , that works best for them ( regardless of their reasons)
Until next time -
Cheers.
